i dont reccomend you get this, well ok do but when you download it, there is a automatic toolbar in IE what there is no option to get off even the unintall list does not list it, you will need spybot or a spyware cleaner to get it off, other than that you are fine! its great! you can lock msn while you are loged it, or you can hide it if you are not ment to be on press the key combo and it hides it all and changes the icon to a little network thing icon, very handy, you can rename your contacts so it is easy to see who they are and change the colour, you can also all your own status on there, and a auto massage you can set up so when you are away when someone talks to you, it will say what ever you put it in to say auto,Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0

if you actually read what your doing when you install it you wouldnt have a problem with the toolbar.
simply click no during the installation of the program when it asks if you want to install the toolbar.Waddle you do eh?0 -

I'm a firefox user, but just went into IE and couldn't see that toolbar that you've mentioned. Been using the software for over a year!....Only problem I had was when I updated messenger before getting an update for plus...Don't do that, and you should be fine! I would recomend it to anyone who's into their messenger
for these reasons...dickibobboy1 wrote:its great! you can lock msn while you are loged it, or you can hide it if you are not ment to be on press the key combo and it hides it all and changes the icon to a little network thing icon, very handy, you can rename your contacts so it is easy to see who they are and change the colour, you can also all your own status on there, and a auto massage you can set up so when you are away when someone talks to you, it will say what ever you put it in to say auto,

messenger plus is classified as "Spyware/Malware"
Patchou has brought in C2Media as a sponsor and is now bundling their lop.com software into Messenger Plus. For those of you who have never heard of it, lop.com software is classified as a trojan by antivirus vendors and as a browser hijacker by antispyware vendors. You can find plenty of information about it by doing a Google search for lop.com. Just be warned - some of the language used by lop victims will melt your monitor.

Some people are on 8 ...from what I know don't make much different than 7! (am I wrong?) ... I would much rather have plus than version 8!!! and no doubt very soon plus will have a update so users will be able to to use version 8 also.Always remember your unique! ...Just like everyone else!:grouphug:0 -

And, last but not least, FREE!
Messenger Plus! is a freeware. You are even encouraged to send it to your friends! Of course, it does not contain any type of spyware or trojan. The optional sponsor program can be installed during the setup, risk free! For those who want to support the development but prefer not to install the sponsor program, you are encouraged to visit the online Messenger Plus! store, or give the developer a minute of your time by sending a postcard.
This is what they say on the messenger plus website!!Always remember your unique! ...Just like everyone else!:grouphug:0 -
also from their site, why are they so paranoid about people using Anti Spyware programs for removal ?? I have used Anti spyware software to remove this with ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS :-
Removing the sponsor package won't take more than 2 minutes of your time but first, here is a list of things you must not do:- Delete the sponsor files yourself
- Edit the registry to try to disable the sponsor
- Run adware removal tools such as Spybot S&D or Microsoft Anti-Spyware
I saw a search bar and advertisement popups after installing Messenger Plus!, why?
back to topMessenger Plus! comes with an optional sponsor program that you can decide to install or not during the setup (which is the same whether it's a new installation or an update. The question is always asked and nothing is ever selected by default). This program will show ads from time to time on your computer, will add a search bar in Internet Explorer and may also change your start page. In NO case this sponsor is mandatory or dangerous. If you don't want it, simply refuse the sponsor agreement during the setup and you will never hear about it again. If you installed the sponsor by error, just launch the uninstallation program of Messenger Plus!, choose if you want to uninstall the sponsor only or Messenger Plus! and the sponsor, follow the instructions and reboot your computer.
Important: if you wish to get rid of the sponsor program, you must uninstall Messenger Plus! from the Add/Remove Programs window. If you start deleting files on your own you will prevent a full system restore as some of the files copied by the sponsor are backups of your original configuration files. Also, never attempt to use programs such as Microsoft Anti-Spyware to remove the sponsor. Doing so would permanently damage the sponsor's restore data and would make the uninstallation much harder than it should beEx forum ambassador
