E-on revised the prices for new customers to their energy saver and price protection tariffs today.

I think it was 4.6% on gas and around 4% on electricity.
Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

  • Did they revise them upwards or downwards?

I'm currently considering Energy Saver v4 or Price Protection 17 at E-On

£55 quidco for each and the only difference sems to be a free energy meter versus no cancellation fee.

    Cheers

  • Changed at 3am to Energy Saver 4 - have I beaten the price rise? I was already an E-on customer.

I was on the energy online extra saver tariff and kept wondering whether to cap or not.
Thankfully i did so late Monday night onto the Energy Saver 3 tariff, as when i checked Tuesday they then had the Energy Saver 4 with higher prices. As they did with the Price Protection tariff, this was version 16 Monday night but Tuesday was version 17 with higher prices.

Im just so glad mines capped now and i can be sure of my prices until Oct 09.

I just signed up to the Energy saver 4 (grr about it just going up but nevermind)

I'm worried now I should have gone for price protection, as I understood it the price protection can still go up, it just promises to stay below british gas prices... is that right?

also, the E.on site is playing up... all the people switching I reckon!

Price Protection and Energy Saver are identical price wise and are both capped. You get a free energy monitor with Energy Saver but there is a £35 termination fee if you want to change tariff or supplier before the end of the capped period

The Guarantee products were those that guaranteed to be cheaper than BG. They've been pulled now, though.

I don't get why anyone would sign up for the energy saver one then?

I can't see us wanting to move again but I'm confused why would they do that and call them something totally different if they are the same price etc, I'm sure it said about staying under british gas prices, thats why I opted for the energy saver one!
One said capped, the other price protection, Martin said go capped so I did.... why don't they call the other one capped if thats capped too?

Sorry I know it was foolish but I switched in a hurry cos of the capping being pulled everywhere.
