If you've left it to the last second there's a great danger of overspending or rushing through. The web loses its power right now to get you gifts in time, so what are the other options to give good gifts and easy shopping without breaking the bank?

agree to exchange gifts with adults, or older kids, after xmas and buy in the sales! I worked long and hard to persuade my MIL to give me cash for xmas, and last year the penny dropped as she found the £75 coat I really wanted at half price in the Jan sales for me.
She was so impressed that this year she's even suggested she would like to choose herself something in the sales from us....she knows now she'll get more for her money!
Even my 9yo now puts 'money' on his xmas list (although he might be trying it on coz he also fills the list with gift ideas, lol)
Great idea as a thread, I've always got last minute bits I need to get!*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
If I don't reply to you, I haven't looked back at the thread.....PM me0 -
I think at this late stage its best to give money as a gift, or if you want it to look less "last minute" then buy a gift voucher. As a bonus, most stores give a free gift card with a voucher, so you save money by not needing a separate Xmas card.0

agree to buy friends something on a day out round the sales. me and several friends do this, we all save so much per person, then splash out in the bargains.0

It's not really last minute yet though, is it?? Still 5+ shopping days left - obviously the old fashioned type of shopping where you actually get off your !!!!!! and go to the shops :snow_grin
Mines all bought and wrapped so I can relax this week. :j0 -
Just looking at the Hawkin's bazaare website and they offer guaranteed xmas delivery on orders placed before 22nd Dec which I thought was pretty good. Delivery is £3.99 flat rate and their are loads of bits and bobs on there for all different budgets. Definately worth a look!

i put together a package for my ma from the limited shops available outside. i went to shops that weren't too busy, but fit in with something that she would like. as everyone says, it's the thought that counts.
i went for a photo album and a £10 at boots for printing photos, as she's recently got into digital photos in a bit way.0 -

Best money saving tip of the lot- agree not to buy for each other. Let's face it- whats the point in exchanging naff jumpers or socket sets?Just because you used to be you think everybody else is, don't you?0
