as this was on during mid afternoon..... and being at work i was unable to see it.

are there any plans to repeat it at all?

I caught it by accident while wrapping presents, having forgotten the start date. It was interesting, but I was worried about the waste of disposable nappies in the skip - even if only the top layer was genuine it was still quite a few quid to throw away. And also as a mum myself I felt that I would rather save by buying second hand clothes for the triplets than by giving up disposables - urgh, fancy having to soak and wash them! So disagreed with this saving, it was TOO painful. The ebay idea was excellent though. Also maybe more could be made of what are the real necessities (for all of us struggling to budget): in their case they didnt need cable and sky, and in fact no one really needs an expensive version of tv unless they are permanently glued to it. For example, dipping in and out of dvd library membership would let you view all the best films at a fraction of the cost, and you could go to the pub for really important sports events.
Overall a great program to start the series off.

I liked it so much I downloaded the spreadsheet! Now all I have to do is fill it in - ugh!

Filled my spreadsheet in 2 weeks ago.

Have already........

1. Subscribed to magazines rather than buying them monthly off the shelf (saving £36/yr)
2. Changed gas and electricity provider (saving £48/yr)
3. Changed phone provider. I was with ntl but 1899 have introduced a 0.5p/min call charge for this so back to BT (already using 1899 but estimate saving of £50/yr)
4. Reduced Sky digital package (wasn't watching kids programmes or movie channels so saving £216/yr by downgrading)
5. In checking through mobile phone bill realised I hadn't received a £85 chequeback I was due (nice xmas pressie!)
6. Have just had a patio door installed, but rather than pay off the credit card which is still at 0% introductory rate, have transferred the money into an instant access ISA until nearer the time the 0% rate ends.

Next on the list will be mortgage redundancy protection cover and home & contents insurance. I'm already avoiding cashing tesco clubcards in store.

I am just collecting together my bank statements to fill in the planner thing. Dh has just found out about some TV thing. We can't get Freeview or cable and are on the most basic Sky package but I can't manage without Cbeebies I'm afraid. Dh reckons there is something we can buy that will run the Freeview channels through the Sky box wothout a subscription. Lets hope so.

I have just changed over to re-usable nappies and they are fantastic. You don't have to soak them or anything. I just stick them in a covered nappy bucket with a few drops of tea tree oil and then bung them all in the washing machine every 2-3 days with the towels. I so wish I had swopped earlier. They are much nicer than disposables. I do have to be careful though as it is very tempting to go out and buy more than I need just to try all the different kinds.

I would so have loved using these re-usable nappies when my 5 where little. I only used terries on one of my children because she was alergic to the bleach in disposables but i am sure i would have used the re-usable ones for all my babies if they were on the market at that time. The money i saved on terries was brilliant, its just that they werent very convienient at the time and a faff to use.

Yes, we looked into pre-folds when ds was first born and I was put off by the fact they looked too much hard work. Shaped nappies are a bit more expensive to buy, but I got mine 2nd hand on ebay and they hold their value well so I should be able to re-coup almost all my expenditure when he is potty trained.
