Do you use a firewall or router, and if so, is it blocking port 443?
What has changed on your PC since it last worked?
You may be able to use system restore, to put the PC back to the state is was before the problem started.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Not the firewall..
I've an idea it's to do with the "certificates"?
I fear in clearing the SSL state (found under Internet properties & content) I may have removed all the certificates that recognise me..
Could this be my mistake and if so can it be rectified?
Thanks0 -

Yea, the clearing the SLL Slate removes all cirtificates that recognise you. As far as I know there ins't any way to restore them, possibly restoring your computer to a previous state but I'm not certain it would restore those files.0 -
I think those get deleted on reboot anyway, but it could be to do with certificates..
There are some diagnostic tips here:
http://www.duxcw.com/faq/win/xp/secure.htm.
Also, check that the use ssl boxes are ticked in Tools/internet options/advanced.
Clicking restore defaults is a quick way to do thisEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
