This is my first month and although I haven't posted much I've been reading everything - it's very addictive.
I've kept a note of everything I've bought on a spreadsheet and so far I've spent £296.37/£350.00 on food, eating out and feeding our five cats and two parrots (they eat a lot of fresh fruit & veggies). We spend far too much on food so I want to get that under control.
Next month I want to try £250. so please could you put me down for that
I've had a great time making yogurt cake, Millie's cookies, potato burger pie and vegetable soup - thank you for the great recipes (hubby loved them)0 -

4 oz SR flour

I've got a fan oven where I can't switch off the fan too. It's got a nasty "hot spot" too (I thought fan ovens weren't supposed to get those ). Anyway I bake my bread at 180C for 35 minutes - maybe a couple of minutes over if necessary - and it comes out perfectly. Most recipes say it should be baked at something like 230C which I've always found much too hot.0
