Can I request that they stop calling me at work? It's really embarassing for me...I have had so many calls recently

It comes under the rules for harassment. I would advise that you tell them either that they only phone you from home or they are to correspond with you by letter only. If they phone one more time let them know that you will be issuing a complaint with the OFT against the firm due to continued harassment at work making it impossible for you to carry out your job.0 -
thankyou m.colak for replying so quickly...I've had so many calls at work and their regular number is disguised as a mobile number too... is this to 'trick' me into answering?"happiness is...positive cashflow!":j0

Is there any way you can block it at work? Or does it come through to your mobile?
It is definately harrassment. They have to follow guidelines. I reckon it will be one of their debt collection people, and they can be quite persistant. Also if you ring them up, they often ask for a number to contact you on for security purposes, ignore that bit or give a false number then they can ring that to their hearts content.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

they call the main number which has to go via our receptionist who is busy enough without having to deal with MBNA! They call my direct line at work AND both my home and mobile numbers...I have recently agreed a monthly payback figure with them...I don't understand why they want to talk to me... I have nothing to say to them!"happiness is...positive cashflow!":j0

Have you sent the letter telling them you only wish to be contacted in writing? It's around here somewhere...
Edit: Letter in post 2 - extra detail to add in post 8

It is one of their tactics. I will have a hunt for the letter, if fermi is about he will have it in 5 seconds flat.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
