This is a reprise of an earlier thread.
I've now acquired a pair of USB powered speakers for my desktop pc:

(I
need no special sound quality) and am having trouble making them work.
They are (obviously) linked, with the primary unit also having the USB cable to connect to the pc PLUS a cable ending in a small jack plug.
No matter what I try, I can't seem to get any sound out of the setup bar an ongoing crackling/rumbling.
Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong?

Where is the small jack plugged into? It should be plugged into either your sound card or headphone socket.0
