They all honed and perfected their acts on the club scene, where their individual successes led to many television series appearances on shows such as The Comedians and The Good Olde Days and numerous Royal variety performances.

    Frank Carson has a unique brand of humour, and the way he tells his jokes, the evening is bound to be a cracker. Frank, who raises thousands of pounds for charity each year, won the peak viewing national talent television show, Opportunity Knocks, presented by the veteran actor Hughie Green. The rest, as they say, is comedy history.

    Duncan Norvelle has worked in clubs and nightspots all over the country and enjoyed summer seasons in Jersey, Isle of Man, Blackpool and Bournemouth. The talented impressionist and comic has also performed abroard in the USA and on cruise ships.

    They will be joined for the evening by Ian 'Sludge' Lees, who was a regular member of the Tizwas cast and appeared on The Comedians, Summertime Special and Live From Her Majesty's.

    The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £15, are available from the box office on 01934 645544.

    * The Weston & Somerset Mercury has teamed up with The Playhouse to offer one lucky reader the chance to each win a pair of tickets to see Comedy Night Out.

    To enter, please answer the following question:Complete the title of the national talent show which shot Frank Carson to stardom: Opportunity _______.

    * Closes: 9am on April 25.

    * Usual Archant rules apply and the editor's decision is final.
