</td></tr></tbody></table> THE musical life and times of The Bee Gees is being celebrated by professional Somerset musicians who are returning to the region as part of a national tour.

Jive Talkin' The Bee Gees Story arrives at The Playhouse on April 30 and will be led by Yatton's Gary Simmons, Bristol's Darren Simmons and Weston's Jarrod Loughlin.

The band recreates the extensive Gibb brothers' repertoire, including popular hits such as Tragedy, Stayin' Alive, Night Fever, Massachusetts, You Win Again and Words.

The Bee Gees catalogue of hits is brought to life by the convincing vocals of brothers Darren and Gary as Barry and Robin Gibb, and Jarrod as Maurice Gibb.

Last year the brothers celebrated 20 years as a musical partnership, and have turned their act from a tribute to a full production show, which chronologically celebrates the life and times of the musical legends.

Jarrod joined the group late last year. He has worked as a professional musician since 2002 and has played with a number of local bands including The Orphans and Love Shack. The 32-year-old also works one day a week as a music teacher at Churchill Community School.

Jarrod said: "Touring with the band is great fun - I'm having a fantastic time. The brothers have been singing for 20 years now and have every little note nailed. It was hard at first but the three of us spent hours singing together until we had it just right. Our music is as close to the originals as it could possibly be.

"I think the possibilities for the group are endless and we could be touring for a very long time."

The show includes special guest, Sarah Eden-Winn, also of Weston, who will be performing songs that the Bee Gees wrote for other artists including Chain Reaction, Guilty, Immortality and If I Can't Have You.

The performance starts at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £15, are available from the box office on 01934 645544.

    * The Weston & Somerset Mercury has teamed up with The Playhouse to offer one lucky reader the chance to each win a pair of tickets to Jive Talkin' The Bee Gees Story.

To enter, please complete the following Bee Gees song title: Night _________.

Where is Weston? They seem to get LOADS of comps / showbiz visits! If I ever move from London (within this country) I think that I'd move there! icon7.gif

We're in the West Country in North Somerset and right by the sea;) I'm a North London gal born and bred though and through but love it here. Moved out of London after meeting husband :p

You might need to wait a while before thinking of coming down, Weston is also known as god's waiting room:rotfl:

Well, it sounds lovely, and you have a lot of people who like entering comps from the look of the local media - and lots of stuff going on there, from the same!

Would have thought that the housing market was quite active, from what you say... :o
