help with ports in modem/router

Options
i just got a Sweex wireless adsl 11g modem/router and successfully connected my pc and ps2 with it in no time at all. the problem im getting is that on ps2 it connects successfully but games like nfsu2 need some ports open to get rooms etc. the modem/router manual doesnt say anything about it so i searched the internet and found some help and tried to solve the problem but in vain.
what i want to do is to assign an ip address to ps2 so that the ports i open for games refers to that ps2 ip. i have no idea how to do this. how to assign ip, open ports for games etc. also the modem supports dmz.
games like medal of honour have no problems with ports but games like nfsu2 have.
any help will be appreciated

I've found instructions for giving your PS2 a static IP address here:
    MANUAL SETTINGS (Static IP Addressing)

    1. Using the on-screen keyboard, enter the following information: (You may need to contact your ISP for some of this information):

    • IP Address
    • Netmask
    • Default Router Address
    • Primary DNS Address
    • Seconday DNS Address
    2. Highlight ENTER and press the X button when you are done.

    3. The Network Adaptor will test the connection. Once a connection has been established, press the X button to save to your Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation 2). If you cannot establish a network connection, click here for Troubleshooting.
As far as port forwarding/triggering is concerned, you may find the guides at www.portforward.com to be of sufficient use to get you started.

now can anyone help me to open ports. in NFSU2 i cant see any rooms in the lobby. the game connects perfectly thru DNAS etc. i asked ea about it and they sent me an email to open TCP ports 20900-20999. now when i go to my Virtual server in my router configurations, and start entereing the ports, i cant enter more than 20 ports. any ideas what should i do ?

If you're having trouble opening specific ports, you could instead add the console's IP address to the DMZ.
