I have been experimenting with getting live feed in from an outside bird box on a miniature colour camera (hard wired). Has anyone set up a successful 'wireless' transmitter / receiver system on a budget for getting live pictures back to a PC or monitor - possibly up to 1km +.
I work on a nature reserve and am keen to experiment. I have a reasonable technical understanding. Webcams, cctv, suppliers, your suggestions from basic to sophistacted but on a limited budget....
Thanks in advance Mark

Well I set up a creative webcam and used rmote monitoring that uploaded
the images to a web server or emailed to my address.......//0 -
Funnily enough, I noticed a B&W "wireless" CCTV package on one of the Freeview shopping channels the other day - probably bid-tv or price-drop. No idea of the range, but they just needed power leads for camera and (tiny) display.
Had a look at their websites and couldn't see any more info, but googling for "wireless cctv" comes up with loadsJumbo

if you search ebay for
wireless camera
you'll see loads of them quite cheap (no pun intended)
1km is pushing it, trees block the signal big time so in a forest you have no chance of getting a wireless signal 1k (unless you have a HAM license and hence can use higher power levels)
now if you have line of site between the camera and the reciever then 1k is easy to acheive with a few antenna modifications.
