Washing up liquid

I used this trick when I was skint.
If you either get that cheap washing up liquid, the stuff that's very thin, or get some of the branded stuff and dilute it half and half with water, you can thicken it right back up by adding table salt so it lasts twice as long.
Weird but true.
Just don't use it for cleaning the car - or it'll rust it.

I get the branded stuff and well, since it's going to go in water anyway I just... use less.
Oh by the way, if you have used lemon as a condiment etc, don't throw away the skin, but use it to rub the plates after washing - it degreases them further and smells up everything nice.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

Let us know what you think?
I was amazed when I tried it.0 -
I use fairy but it is diluted - 1 part fairy 10 parts water in a spray bottle and I just put 1 spray in the basin.0

might try it tomorrow ... if it doesnt, well at least the kitchen will smell lemon fresh....Work to live= not live to work0 -

let us know if it works as OH managed to pour the fat from something he cooked over quite a few dishes and its a nightmare  so if it works ill so be getting some lemons in lol0 -
You'd need a lot of spare lemon bits... Lemons are quite expensive compared to washing up liquid... I was watching one of those shows - take half a lemon... that's 10p! Compared to a squirt of whatever cleaner you like, very expensive...
I spend maybe £2/year on washing up liquid - 2 Fairy liquids and one 13p value bottle. Hmmm, I love my Fairy...:wall:0 -
I go to the local farmers store (Mole Valley Farmers), but there are loads around, country west etc.
From there I but 5 litre bottles of Hederol, which is double strength professional commercial fairy for £7.
(I also buy 120 wash bags of persil for £25, 5 litre comfort/lenor concentrate £5, sounds a lot, but remember it's for the farming community and you don't need as much as they say as it is stronger than the stuff in the supermarket.)The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10
