Best washing machine for under £250 delivered?

Hi all

My Servis M9090 has finally died a death after 5 yrs. Im popping to the shops tommorow to look round and have done some research online.

I'm looking for:
Front loading
A class energy efficiency
At least 1200 rpm
At least 5kg capacity
Under £250 including delivery

So far Ive found:
Indesit WIL153 - £220 from co-op
Whirlpool AWM5145 - £238.53 from qed
Beko WMA10W - £199.99 from empire

Anyone have any recommendations ? Thanks in advance :D

Personally I'd go for a Whirlpool. Have got the previous version of that 1400spin washer and also a tumble drier of theirs, both which have done 3 years hard labour so far without any problems.

Incidentally, same price delivered on http://www.sainsburyskitchenappliances.co.uk

Plus you get 438 Nectar points from there.

Or, from http://www.bootskitchenappliances.com and get £8.76 in Boots Advantage Points.

You might even be able to use points towards buying it...haven't checked.

  • Hubby used to be a domestic appliance engineer, and says go for the Indesit every time. Reasons?

'Indesit are excellent basic machines, easy to get spare parts for and cheap to service. You can get spare parts for Indesit at your local market. They've been making washers for longer than almost anyone else and know what they're doing (apart from a period in the mid-80's when they produced some rubbish). They are bl**dy excellent machines for the money' (LANGUAGE, hubby!) :D

'Whirlpool have some of the highest prices for service costs.'

'If you buy a Beko, no independent repairer will touch it, cos they can't get the parts.'

    Hiya BM

Someone at work was boasting today about finding a Bosch with a retail of £499 online for under £300 (I thin k it was £249) delivered. She was also really pleased about the fast delivery options.

Will post or PM you tomorrow if you still havent bought anything.

Well, BM, turns out it was only good old Curry's online she got it from.

It only just scrapes in under budget. See HERE

PS It's a tenner cheaper HERE anyway.

One of 'which' magazines best buys was a Tricity-Bendix 1260W. Best price i've found was £238.

  • Try Co-Op online here:http://www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk/products/ProductList.asp?topGroupCode=LAUND&groupCode=LDWMCH.
I bought the Bosch Classixx 1000 and it's a brilliant machine. 1000 rpm spin speed, 6Kg. load, A+ energy rated, £246.49 delivery was fast and they took away my old machine too.

Did they take it away for free or did you pay the £9 ?

I paid the £9 - it wouldn't have gone in the car and would have had to borrow a friend's van so by the time I'd done that & put some petrol in it for him to take it to the tip which is quite a way away, I reckoned it was cheaper to pay and have done with it!

I did ring the local white goods recycling warehouse, but unfortunately they are full up with applicances at the moment and don't want anymore for a while - which is a pity.
