if you dont have a credit/debit card can you sell on ebay?

Hi i can buy stuff on ebay but as far as i am aware i cant sell anything on ebay as i dont have a credit or debit card. Is this true or is there some other way around it at all as i have so much junk i need to get rid of (when i say junk its actually not junk) but is cluttering up my house.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Provided you have a UK bank account, you can sell on eBay. You only need some way to pay your eBay seller fees - such as cheque, direct debit or postal money order.

If your eBay account was established after February 2007 then you may need to open a PayPal account (but need not use it) before you can sell on eBay.

    Hope this helps :-)

Are you sure this is right as i tried to open a sellers account and couldnt as i didnt own a credit or debit card as these are used to verify my i.d i emailed them and was told that i would have to have a credit card/ debit card and there was no way round this.

I do already have a paypal account as i use it most of the time when i have bought stuff on ebay so that isnt the problem. I had the same thing where it said i needed a credit/debit card to sell things on ebay and i have used my ntl email account to verify my id is that not a correct one to use then?
or is there another way around it?
    Thanks

Like i said mate i had the same problem and even emailed ebay to ask if there was another way round it and got quite a snotty email stating that most people in the UK have a credit or debit card.

    Above link might help.

Haven't you got a partner with a credit card/debit card to open a sellers account as this is what i did until my bank issued me with one.

Thanks Sambo31. No i dont have a partner so cant get around it that way i am afraid. Oh well! looks like i will just have to forget about ever selling anything on ebay. It is a shame but it isnt the end of the world i guess although is a big pain in the bottom!
    Thanks again!

UPDATE: If you have an eBay account that was created before February 2007, but you have never used it to sell anything, then you must link to a PayPal account before you can list items to sell...

I've just tried to list some things on ebay, same problems about needing credit or debit card.
My paypal account is linked to Ebay, At least i think it is? How do i know it is linked?

When i opened my Ebay buyers account about 2 years ago I used a credit card to verify my I.D.

I dont have the card anymore, I would have thought me being verified the first time would do ??

    :rolleyes2 :naughty:

Workaround latest eBay roadblock to new sellers:

If you don't have any credit or debit cards, then there is a solution: register for a 3v card. It's a prepaid card for online purchases. You can buy vouchers in £20 amounts from UK Post Offices, etc. The voucher is basically a unique visa card number, and the expiry date and CCV2 number are mailed or texted to you.

On the 3v website it says you can't use it to register for an eBay seller account, but you can. (I stubbled across this totally by accident.) I tried registering one of my spare eBay accounts as a seller and it worked (eBay charged it around £1 to confirm the card was valid, then reverse the charge a few days later). After the 3v card had been accepted, I added my bank details and clicked the box to make direct debit my default method. Presto you can sell on eBay UK without a real credit or debit card...
