Las Vegas

We have just booked up flights to Las Vegas, flying out on 12th April and returning on 19th, we have got the flights for £309.00 each, including taxes etc.

As i have never been out there before, is this a good price, direct from Gatwick to Vegas? Have been told it is "well cheap"!!!!!

Anyone know of any good web sites to find out some info on Vegas, plus best place to look for hotels etc. Have been told downtown is a little cheaper than the strip to stay.

What you think!!!!

Thanks

Just got back about 3 days ago, strip hotels are a waste of money imo, theres loads off strip miles cheaper and a lot less hassel.

Checking in and out of a hotel that has a few thousand rooms is not a quick experiance.

    That's a very good price.
For helpful sites I would recommend https://www.lasvegastalk.com and https://www.travel2vegas.com
You can put your questions to the knowledgeable folks there and also read about the excellent hotel rates that one can get.

  • That is a good price for flights, we were £469 for 4 nights last year, but this was staying at the Venetian and we loved it! We hadnt shopped around enough as it was a last minute decision to go and it wasnt until we had it booked we saw the exact same holiday for £100 cheaper, or for £150 cheaper we could have stayed at the Bellagio. Always shop around, we flew direct from Manchester with BMI

There is a chap called Phil Feldman who posts various offers from Vegas on the web. I will see if I can find one of the sites he posts on. Last time we went I found our deal on his site ... 3 nights in Vegas including one show and breakfast (all for 2 people) for a grand total of $32 (£22.43 - if I remember correctly) - unbelievable deal. We stayed at the Imperial which is just about opposite Ballagio/Caesars palace - it is not one of the fancy themed hotels but was as good as any Holiday Inn or Moat House over here.

This is the last time he posted http://www.travel2vegas.com/latimes.html
My other favourite site for Vegas is http://www.cheapovegas.com/index.php

Ivan----Phil only gives information out of the L.A. Times. The forums that I have suggested are excellent ---for first-timers especially--- as they can get tips from regulars and they can also ask questions.
