Tax Refund Claim Form

This week at work some Unision Flyers have been going around about a Tax Refund Claim Form. Its also available here

https://secure.taxbuddies.com/ptsindexUnison.php?userid=4000000253&ref=unison

Hope its ok to post it as well its related to my query.

This company will then take a 40% cut of whatever successful Refund your entitled to.

We were wondering, is there not a way to find out if your owed some Tax & get the full amount yourself.

Anyone got any thoughts, as i thought if unision are advertising it & there is a way to claim what is rightfully yours without losing money, well it should be brought to ppls attention.

All you need to do is write a letter to your local tax office detailing why you think you need a refund and if possible enclose copies of your P60's/payslips for the period.

The tax office will then check free of charge and issue any payments to you.

Well if thats the case, why would Unision advertise a company who take £40 if its that simple to do.

Unison get a kickback for each person they have referred ?, like they do with insurance etc.

Often, if its an obvious overpayment on your records, HMRC will issue a cheque automatically without any propmting.

All these companies are doing is writing on your behalf, they like to create the myth that its difficult in order to further their own profits

Hiya you just need to fill in this form:

    R40 form

and I would personally photocopy your p60 and send it with it (although it says on it you don't have to) - they then will issue you a refund.

Form is real easy to fill in too. You can just print it out and send it.

The banks/investment organisations should tell you. They normally send out this information from about mid April onwards.

The HMRC website FAQs give more information about this.

Do you actually get a refund if you fill in this form? I have just filled in the tax refund form but haven’t yet sent it off thought I might check the forums first regarding this .
