Hi folks after trawling through the internet looking for an answe, I thought I would try here. My lads com has developed the above virus malware
System security 2009 is a fake spyware etc remover and is very nasty. Anyone got it yet? I hope not. It is according to all reports a monster of a virus which may be undoable. It will not let me open any anti virus software, new or old and is more or less operating at will. I heard through the grapvine that it has sneaked onto facebook disguised as an advert, once you click then doom and destruction shortly follows. I will not give you any links as you do not know me and you may think I am the beholder of the virus.
I have tried downloading new software but it will not let me. So there you have it , some say " That the best thing to do is save your files and buy a new computer" Is it really that bad?
Thanks for looking and any help would be fantastic.

Thanks I will try, but the com has now turned itself off, after me just turning it on. It may not let me download the tool or indeed connect to the web. It is indeed a nasty bit of work of which I have never seen the like of. As you say I may have to go safe mode< I tried downloading a virus app onto a memory stick then plugging that into the rogue com but it would not have it. I will give your rec's a go in the morningBetter to be poor than a slave to wealth

download combofix to a CD or usb drive
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix
and copy it to the desktop of the infected PC
then start it running , if it fais to run then rename the file to something else like claenmypc.exe and try again
will take about 10-20 minutes to run
you may need to disable almost all the start up menu options while in safe mode by using MSconfig , then booting into normal mode
this is a bootable CD that may break the back of it first

burn to CD and then make sure PC is booting from CD first by entering Bios SetupEx forum ambassador

That bad!!! I will try these ideas out later. I have tried a few mame changes to fool the beast but to no avail as yet. This time it's war, no stone will be left unturned in this battle until one or the other is defeated.
The problem is finding the time for the battle. Some say " It has taken two days in front of the the sceen to defeat this enemy"Better to be poor than a slave to wealth
