Parking in London while coming from Norwich or/and Basingstoke

In a family of 5 at Norwich we would like to visit London from Friday to Sunday. Cheapest way I thought 'll be by renting a car and staying in Basingstoke every night with friend.

Itinerary can be Friday morning - Norwich to London, Park somewhere, take a tube and spend day in London and then in evening go to Basingstoke. Do the same on Saturday from Basingstoke drive to London, park, roam around in London thru tube and return back to Basingstoke by evening. On Sunday drive from Basingstoke, roam in London and in evening return back to Norwich.

Question is how to find cheapest and safe parking in/around nearest tube towards London (M25, M11 ?) or/and while going towards Basingstoke (M3 ?) at nearest tube in London.

Thanks,

    icyaju,
I'm not quite clear if you are saying it is THIS weekend you have to travel or whether you are trying to get costs for a weekend of your choice in London. We are also a family of five and usually travel to London from Norwich by train rather than car; using a family rail card it cost us £22 (for five) last time and we'll be doing the same again soon. If you follow the guideline that a mile of car travel costs 50p it's cheaper by train plus you arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy the day(s). According to Travelodge.co.uk you can get rooms for 4 (take a sleeping bag) at their Marylebone and Farringdon hotels for £26.00 on their saver deal (7 days ahead, booked online) both of which are pretty central. It would save schlepping in and out of Basingstoke and mean you could have evenings in London as well. Might be worth thinking about.
Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!

I would agree. A family rail card journey is going to be much much cheaper in the long run than driving there, getting tubes and trains in and parking.

Other than that if you really want to drive you could try parking your car somewhere like Stratford in East London and getting the tube in from Stratford or Plaistow station.
