Would liketo buy Hair straighteners

Mods: please don't merge this with the GHD thread again, I'm not specifically looking to buy GHD straighteners!! I want hair straighteners and just like there are other supermarkets apart from Tesco, there are other straighteners than GHD aparently. If you merege my thread again, i'll never find out!! Thanks

Hi all,
I would like to buy some hair straighteners  but i'm not a very girly girl so I don't want to spend a fortune in case I don't use them very much!

So some advice please...
What straighteners do you use?
Can you straighten from wet?
How much are they?
Do they actually do what it says on the tin?
Is it worth buying a cheap pair to see if I use them or will it put me off if the cheap pair turns out to be carp?

Thanks in advance

OK. if you are SO sold on them, tell me why. What you are posting so far isn't very helpful! "buy this one it's good" Yay, that helps me lots.

None of my friends have any or i'd be asking them, trust me.

I have Kodo Creative ceramic straighteners (now on my second pair) and they're great. Even my GHD-only friends have reluctantly admitted they're "nearly" as good as GHDs.

First pair lasted four years, second (bought on Ebay) are still going strong. Can get them on Ebay for around £20.

They don't do wet to dry, but they do have another model that does this.

My daughter has fine hair, and she uses Babyliss Pro 210, which she got from Tesco for around £15 last year. They work very well on her hair.If you search for Babyliss on the forums, there are some people who rate them as highly as GHD's. I think the model number that they rave about is Pro 230 which is around £35 on Amazon.
Hope you find what you're looking for.

Is there only 1 set of straighteners that you can use from wet hair? (Remington Professional Wet2Straight Slim Digital)

Does anyone use theirs from wet and why shouldn't you?

Hi i have really thick curly hair, and i have to say i have always used GHD's, BUT my friend who is also my hairdresser has got some amazing one's, they are called -
Genuine Corioliss C2 Red Leopard straighteners,

Sorry that came out a bit big, but i would say without a doubt they are better then GHD'S, well on my hair anyway, something to do with the titanium plates??? Hair stays stright until i want to wash it, amazing!!!!

They have some on Ebay have a look, i am going to get some soon, i wouldnt buy GHD'S again, they are old, why should they still be the best on the market? Technology has moved on

I just bought my daughter some from amazon called vidal sasoon hot tools. they are white and cost £15,99 inc pp and she said they are briliant. You can change the heat on them and she said they are as good as her GHD's which she used to have

They arrived in about 3 days too so very pleased.
