Do you mean a prepaid credit card? AFAIK there are no 100% legitimate cards like these available in the UK, if you have trouble with credit then perhaps a debit card or one of the credit-building cards (e.g. Capital 1) might be better?

Just had a quick look at this, and see that it is operated by a compnay called Broadcastle Bank. I have had extensive dealings with Broadcastle and subsidiary companies, Harton Securities over the last 12 years or so. They are a reputable organisation and would be pleased to recommend them.

Hope this helps any one who is interested.

But £10 fee to get one, £5 per month to maintain it, £2 every time you put cash in it online or over the phone and then if you withdraw the cash they charge you again? I'd suggest that is intheirpocketnotyours.

You don't have to have one. But for those who cant get credit, but need to have the benefit of a payment mechanism to pay on line, it could be a solution. My comments were regarding Broadcastle, as probably they are unheard of here. Plus as Jakemuk says:
