Hi
My cheif bridesmaid is pregnant, due 2 days before the wedding!
We spoke on Saturday and i offered her a chance to get out of doing it, said it was completly her choice. But she refused saying she is definatly still doing it
So, im now thinking, what about her dress?!
This is her second, her first was 2 weeks late, but i've heard that the second ones usually arrive on time.
So shall i get her a dress to fit her bump or what?
Im confused so sorry if this post if confusing :rotfl:
TIA x

I would go for something empire line and floaty. But I would definitely buy second hand just incase she is unable to do it ie baby comes early. Good luck with your wedding plans.0

My midwife always told me (and I was lucky enough to have the same one for all three) first babies can be two weeks either way - (as Mum has no experience of being pregnant:D) But she will know with the second! As for the dress, I second empire line, with possibly some detail under the bust line. As she is so close with dates, the chances are the babe will have "dropped" and she will be carrying lower IYKWIM.
Although there is entirely the possibility of her going into labour on the day - don't have fireworks just in case0 -
Thanks for that!
she's already said if she goes into labour during the ceremony she'll quietly leg it out of the churchlol x

Hello
I am bridesmaid for my friend in May next year and I will be 8 months pregnant at the time so I am in a similar predicament.
Luckily the bride has told myself and her other bridesmaid that we can decide on our own dresses, they don’t even have to be the same style the only stipulation is that they must be black.
I have been looking at various places I can get a dress and have come up with a few places that do bridesmaid dresses for pregnant ladies
http://www.bridesnbumps.com/category_Maternity_bridesmaid_dresses_1.htm
(there is a dress I love on there but it is far too expensive!)

A couple on the website above I like
I have found a few sellers on Ebay which make maternity dresses which would be suitable for bridesmaids in China (some of them are in the US). The pictures show them in white but you can have them made in any colour from their chart (a good choice of colours) They can make them to measure as well which might be useful.
Here’s a link to the stores I found offering this service

House of Brides have a good selection of Maternity BM dresses available to order. They come from the US so if you ordered you may be liable to import tax but they do have some beautiful dresses on the site. I bought my wedding dress from the US, saved over £500 on the RRP even though I did have to pay a £44 import fee.
You can look at the different maternity dresses they have on offer on their website http://www.houseofbrides.com/home.php?cat=508 Bari Jay especially do some gorgeous maternity dresses - I have fallen in love with this dress below which I am tempted to order as my BM dress.....(its the longer one on the left in black that I am thinking of)One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
For fear of being hung, drawn and quartered.
I think she is being very unfair, the baby may arrive late and if it does then brilliant. But it may arrive early or ontime and everyone of my friends who became first time mums said it really takes it out of you and you dont know what has hit you for a good while.
What if things don't go as smooth as hoped and she has complications and cant be there?
I suppose you have to ask the question, if she cant be my chief bridesamid would i want anyone else? If the answer is that she is the only person who can fill those shoes then great but just be prepared for her not to be there.
Sorry0 -
Do you live close by to each other?
I think you both wait till literally a week or so before the wedding and buy something then... and then dont take the tags off until the day of the wedding! Maybe buy both a with bump dress and a post bump dress and take back the one thats un-used?
So you need to make sure if you want all the BMs in the same colour that you choose a colour which will be easy to find..
My BM is due 4 weeks before my wedding.. I also gave her a get out clause as I didnt want her feeling uncomfortable (I asked her to be BM 2 weeks before she found out she was expecting!!) which is an easier scenario because we know she'll def have had the wee one by the time the wedding comes. So we got a dress 2 sizes up and it'll be altered for the day of the wedding.
Obviously check that your BM thinks she'll be okay to humph herself and bump about some shops.. I think the idea would go to a shopping centre and PLAN beforehand what shops you'll visit when there to save her unecessary trailing about.0 -
Sounds like you've already had a lot of helpful advice, i'd just add that no 2 babies are the same so you can't count on the baby being late....my 1st was a complete shock 3 days early but my 2nd was induced 12 days late0

I honestly think like talulah... it's very selfish of her to not gracefully withdraw!
A maid of honour is supposed to be YOUR rock of support, be there to help you want your dress, the difficult moments in the toilet when you try to balance everything whilst having a widdle etc etc etc - not you worrying about her having a bad back, possibly going into labour etc
Mine had to do a lightening dash to fetch my tiara from the hotel to the hairdressers as I for got it  I swear she made my mini fly! :rotfl: You MoH won't be able to be of much help, but more of a hindrance (sorry to sound blunt!) in the run up and during the day!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0
