No phone bill for months

Hi Guys,
At the end of last year I swopped my home phone provider to the Post Office. Anyway 1 day after the official change over date they wrote and said we are sorry that you are leaving us. Very bizarre as I'd only just moved to them.
One week on I got a final bill which was a credit of about £3. Which from memory was 50p worth of line rental less a discount of £3.50 for paying by direct debit.
Since then nothing, apart from them resending the cheque for £3 which I hadn't put in the bank. (Note i still haven't)
Now the weird thing is my phone still works, but no bill for months. Anyone got any idea why not? And can i expect one? And if so who from?

The reason I'm posting this is because I feel I should be paying someone, but I don't know who and I expect that trying to resolve this might be a nightmare.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 479 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

Interesting, but they have written to me telling me my account is closed!
I'd then wait.
I can be very patient sometimes.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
My way of dealing with that would be to open an online savings account and, each month, put £11 + whatever you estimate you spent on calls that month into it.
I'd then wait.

Thats an option, what happens, when (and if) i move house?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 479 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

Are you sure they are not doing online billing? I didn't get a bill for my phone for months once until I realised they were on my own personal page on the website.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

^^ I agree with Heinz, but make sure you put what you think it costs, I would put a little more just in case.
Let it get interest on it then when they ask for the payments you will have the funds available. Then ask for time to pay. (even more interest on their money)
If they leave it to long they may not be able to claim it all back. So long as you dont spend what you owe you can't lose.Thats an option, what happens, when (and if) i move house?
Makes no difference as I see it, either you have to pay one day or not.0 -
to be fair i would just contact them. i'm not being disrespectful but if you were concerned you'd have got on to them rather than try your luck.
it will only come and bite you on the behind if you don't....Kharma..0 -
Something similar happened to me some years ago. I signed with a company offering free dial-up internet (before broadband was available) if I used their dialler box to make phonecalls.
This worked fine for months and I was never billed at all. I didn't use the phone more than I would have otherwise as I expected a bill.
It eventually stopped working but I never heard from them again and got 6 months or so of free internet & calls.0 -

I'm absolutely convinced that it is going to be a nightmare to resolve so I was asking for advice first.
Unless anyone has any better ideas I will call the Post Office and keep you all posted.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 479 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts
