Suggestions for Pork Leg

Hello everybody,

I bought a boneless pork leg roast on special at the shops. I've never been a great fan of pork so have never cooked it before. I thought maybe of cooking in my slow cooker but can't really find any recipes for that. Has anybody done it this way and how did it go? My leg is 1.3kg. I mean my pork leg. :D

Yep! Slow cooker works fine. :) You can cook it on it's own in half an inch of water (you can use some for gravy and some for stock later) for about 6-8 hours.

There's a Lamb and Leek Casserole in the Slow Cooker Recipe Index which you could adapt...

..in fact adapt any red meat recipe you like the look of in our collection.

After all, as I keep saying - no recipe is carved in stone :)

Except maybe one of Aesops :D

I usually buy pork from the farm because we're a bit funny about cheap meat, but I cooked a cheap leg of pork in the slow cooker the other day and it was gorgeous. It was really cheap from Lidl, but you would never have thought so. We ate some hot and the rest was even better cold. I just bunged it in the cooker and found that quite a lot of liquid came out and made lovely gravy.
