Hi
Like loads of others, my little one is having a pirate party this year. I thought it would be helpful to start a thread on what to buy and where.
Loot bag fillers...
Asda- Pirates of Carib. small toy backpack with Jack Sparrow logo and filled with jelly sweets 39p each, in sale
Claires Accessories- Half price pirate sweatbands (they are in boyish colours!)
85p approx depending on style.
Ex-Xmas choccy gold coins from most stores.
Anyone spotted any other deals for budding Jack Sparrows?

How about making a treasure map as a 'pin the tail on the donkey' alternative and also some smaller ones as colouring competitions?

Claires accessories have LOADS of pirate stuff at the moment (I'm a bit Pirate obsessed myself!) Also, Waterstones have Pirateology on offer at the mo (I work for them so I know!) might be a nice coffee table book for the day!0

Just before Christmas my SIL picked up a Pirate Party goody bag from The Range. if you have one near you it might be worth a look. The bag had eye patches, treasure maps, little telescopes and all sorts in them Went down a storm with my pirate mad son!!
He also got Capt Bones Gold (Board Game) which he absolutley loves.....Skeleton comes out of treasure chest when you press a monkey. It's for ages 4+..may be useful if you have a smallish party. Woolies are doing it on special for £6.99 instead of £14.99 at the mo.0 -

They have some nice bags of pirate gold coins in the party favours section of ASDA although at this time of year you will probably be able to get reduced choc ones left over from xmas.
I bought a pirate treasure map game from the party favours range in Woolies for less than a pound. It had a blindfold, map and about 8 pirates to stick on and was played in the style of 'pin the tail on the donkey'.
Also, search the web for free stuff to print off (invitations, party hats, etc.), try this site...

my son wanted a pirate party last year. they were all nursery/preschool age. out of everything, the mini telescopes went down best. - i got these from party pieces, but i'm sure woolies, and large card/birthday shops sell them.

i'd put them into the pass the parcel, intersperced with sweets, but they were fighting over the telescopes.
i also got this, which kept them amused colouring and sticking.

poundstrecher has some pirate themed party stuff, which then was all 3 for 2, so i got plates, cups & napkins for £2
I saw skull and crossbones balloons in wilkos last week for 99p i think too.
although they really liked the eyepatches, i wouldn't bother getting more than the paper/card ones, as they didn't like wearing them.0
