cheap nappies?

Hello guys just need some advice me and hubby are on a super tight budget from this day forward...
When my little girl was a baby I used boots nappies as they seemed to do an equally good job as huggies etc.
Does anyone else use any cheaper brands? and what do you think what do I avoid etc..please can you vote with the poll too and let me know if I have missed any? cheers :)

i used lidl nappies for both my boys and they were the only ones i would recommend, all the other big brands like pampers etc leaked or didnt fit well.

If you can get some freecycled reusuable nappies ..you will be laughing. It will save a fortune, now its summer and you dont have to tumble dry( most of the time;))

If thats not for you...........Lidl also gets my vote

    Hope this helps

    I second the Lidl option.

Keep your eyes open for deals on all types of nappies. Last year there was an offer in a newspaper for a free pack of Lidl nappies (normally £4.99). I bought about 15 copies of the paper so that was nappies sorted out for many months.

Have you joined the Boots parenting club? I just bought 2 x 50 packs of Huggies for £14.50 I think. I then had a £5 off a £10 spend on baby products so worked out at less than 10p per nappy.

The Tesco Clubcard scheme is great too, they are always sending out vouchers for nappies.

We tried Tesco own brand a couple of months ago and they are great for not leaking but I dont like the smell of them when they are very wet.

So my best advice is keep your eyes open for coupons / vouchers and join all the clubs you can.
  • Thankyou :) I have washable nappies but nursery won't use them so having to re-think that too lol
  • i use sainsbury's own brand and they have been great.

I use real nappies mainly but Lidl are quite good too.
TBH if I was using disposables more I would buy Pampers or Huggies (just making sure to stock up on offers, use MOC's etc)

Same here, and every couple of months they do 1/3 off baby event so I stock up then! Their own brand baby wipes are lovely too.

If you are using real nappies at home or part time you are still saving yourself a good deal of money. As nursery won't use them you don't have much choice, but have you asked them if they would consider it if you have them all pre made in bag, and just ask them to bag up the dirties without doing anything with them- so no extra hassle for them iYSWIM.
I've never used disposables really but I have heard good things about lidl, tesco own and sainsbury's own. I get vouchers all the time for pampers and huggies and pass them on to my friend who uses disposables, if you have a friend who uses real nappies might be worth asking if they could keep any coupons for you?
