In Outlook go to Account Settings, click on change for the mail account, click on More Settings, select Outgoing Server and make sure you have selected "Log onto incoming server before sending mail". It's a known bug.0

Also make sure that you are set up for SSL (change your port numbers in the settings) and that you give your user name as your full sky email address.
If that does not work then did you miss the first 6 steps where you log into sky.com, click on email and tools, go to your inbox, click settings, open the pop and forwarding tab and enable POP?
If you are getting an error can you post it please?0 -
I too have a problem with sending mail from outlook. I have configured settings for my gmail account and the emails from gmail are successfully appearing in outlook. However, I cannot send emails via outlook. I have following the instructions from Networkguy and as per PaulK's suggestion on the advanced tab in account settings have changed "use the following type of encrypted connection" to SSL. However, he also says to "change your port numbers in the settings" but I don't know what I should change them to. When I send an email, it goes into my outbox and at the top says "this message has not been sent" and "this message will be sent via (my email name)@gmail.com". However it does not actually send it via my gmail address, it just sits in the outbox.
Can anyone make any further suggestions please - maybe what port numbers I should have in my settings?
Many thanks in advance for any help.0 -
I take you have transferred all the settings, like it shows here (rather than just server names)...

Other than that, make sure Outllok does not say 'Offline' in the bottom right hand corner - if it does, click File and remove the tick from 'Work Offline' - apologies if you have already done all this.Money can't buy friends, but it can get you a better class of enemy - Spike Milligan.0 -

I am using gmail, not sky, but the gist is the same. Yes I have used the settings they mention, although I had to click on outlook express in gmail as they didn't have an option for outlook 2007. Maybe gmail don't support it and that is why I can't send this way?
Please don't apologise re checking if I was offline as any advice is appreciated. I had not checked, but now have and it is definitely not offline.
Will try with my yahoo email and see whether that works.0
