Hi everyone
I have had a MNBA application drop on the mat today and would like your collective advice please.
The MNBA card is described as "Filled to bursting point","The widest range of rewards available".
It is a BT card mainly with 0% for 9mths
Purchases are a 16.9% from the off.
1 MNBA point for every £1 spent(okay but wouldn't use it for purchases).
It then states " £2000 worth of FREE MBNA points with your first transaction".
Great.at this point you would obviously buy a newspaper or other cheap item and pay it off in full and wait for the points to be credited to your account.
Nothing unusal so far.
The application then states you can exchange these points for "Wine" "Days out" and "CASH"!
Here's the rub.
exchange my newly aqquired "£2000 worth of points into £2000".
WooHoo I'm nearly rich!
Reality check.I phoned MBNA and questioned the call taker and she stated that for 5000 points I would be able to get a £20 note.
I think that the application is misleading and deliberatly so.
I ran this leaflet past my other half who is not wise in the ways of credit card applications and she thought it ment a exchange of points for £2000 cash.
How do I squeeze £2000 out of MNBA?
Obviously after I have filled the form in and been accepted.
Anyone else out there with the same idea?
any help ideas gratefully recieved.
I would be nice if Martin (or we)could close down MBNA to the tune of thousands...mmm
thanks

You're !!!!ing joking right? :rotfl:
It's obvious they mean that they will credit you with the number of cashback points that you would have if you'd spent £2000 on the card.0 -

So that works out to 0.25% cashback. No thanks.0

It isn't obvious that's why I copied it out from the leaflet.
I know what they mean but what they are actually saying in printed form means something esle completely.
I wasn't going to apply for it unless I can get something from MBNA.
My main reason for posting was to make others aware of the offer and I am sure there are plenty that have already signed up to it.0
