Hi
Seen the advert on TV from O2 where the ducks are floating down the river and the idea is if you top up your mobile you pick a duck and whatever is written underneath you win. Well three weeks ago I topped up my mobile was sent a competition code from O2 to my mobile and a the link to go to. Did this and the duck I picked said I had won a 20 inch HD ready TV. I chased O2 after two weeks as I had not heard anything anf they came back to me saying there had been an error with my entry as I was being directed to there test site and these prizes did not exist. So they offered me £50 top ups.
Does competition law say they need to provide the prize that I thought I had won as the mistake was theres ?
Any thoughts or references ?

Did you get an email to confirm you're prize? They usually send them automatically when you win something.0 -
Here are the full T&C of the O2 comp. you are talking about:
T&C
1. O2 reserves the right to withdraw or amend the Programme at any time. Notice will be given via text message to customers who have registered for the Programme.
The line I have highlighted in Rule 1 could be their get out clause, but I am no Lawyer
The comp. started on 15 February, which is more than 3 weeks ago when you got your code. Your entry should have been valid - but you need to speak to O2 and ask why you were sent to a test site, when the live comp. was up and running.
Hopefully someone will be along who is able to provide you with more definite information. We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.0 -
