Wondered if anyone could help me with this one?
I'm looking at booking flights for two adults from Manchester into New York middle of May (dates flexible) but which is the best airport to fly to to get into midtown (looking to saty around times square or empire state building.)
Which is closest/easiest to get to/from? Are the prices much different depending on the airport you go to?
Also if anyone can recommend any good places to go price hunting or come up with any quotes for me...
Any help would be great really.

JFK airport (is in the borough of Queens) has a fixed price for cabs into Manhattan - $45 + toll and tip ($50)
It is at least a 20-25 minute journey from JFK so it is not a bad fare. They introduced it a few years ago as tourists were getting ripped of by cabbies.
I think Newark might be a little closer (in New Jersey i think) - but i have only flown into JFK.
Hope this Helps.0 -

1)Taxi is a rip off unless there are 4 of you.
2)Depends on traffic! Can be 40-60 minutes
3) No , it is really no closer. It is possible but a hassle.0 -
My friends flew from Birmingham to Newark Liberty. Apparantly the rail links are good from there.
Why not explore the area with Google Earth. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I've flown into JFK and EWR . EWR wins for me. Far better airport and well connected to Penn Station by rail, from which u can taxi anywhere. Penn isn't too far from Times Square either.Timmay!0

For a little more than the taxi, you can hire a limo service to pick you up. Ranging from a Lincoln Oldsmobile through to stretch limo, you can be collected rather than queue and enjoy the views coming across onto Manhattan.
JFK Newark La Guardia - I'd take the flight to the cheapest destination.
If you time it right, you'll see how slow you can go on the FDRIn the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?0 -
A BA B767 is better than a Continental B757 IMHOPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
