I know Nationwide don't charge a fee if you use an ATM, but do the American or Canadian banks make a charge ?
  • Depends on the machine. They usually do. It's like a dollar or dollar fifty a time - just withdraw in larger amounts of cash to lower number of withdrawls.

Most of the ATMs I use(for debit cards - not credit cards of course) do not charge even if they say it will be a $1.0 or $1.50.

    $400 is normally the max.

Most of the UK banks 'build in' a 2.75% charge into their credit/debit card exchange rate. Nationwide do not.

3, should be Travelex online rather than from the counter directly.

Also Thomas Global Exchange on Victoria Street in London beats all but Nationwide ATM.

I went to Thomas Cook today in Tamworth and they were doing $1.708 to the pound on £1000 or more. This was 2 cents more than anyone else locally - so I snapped them up there. Dont know if this is everywhere or our store only.
