My bathroom is quite small with a shower / bath, toilet, heated towl rail etc etc plus Its a small window and a extractor fan. There's three of us in the house and the shower is used very often. When i moved into the house in July there didn't seem to be any sign of mould but in the last month or so, there are mould spores growing above and around the window on the wall (not on any tile work) and on the wooden window sill. I keep insisting to my flatmates (to their annoyance) to keep the window open and the extractor fan on and have wiped down the walls with bleach but it doesn't seem to get rid of it. Can someone please tell me how can i remove it for good? It's driving me mad!
Thanks!
Thanks!

I don't think you ever will remove it for good unless you leave the windows open and the heating on all the time during the winter.
Astonish Mould & Mildew Remover seems to work better than anything for us BUT BEWARE, it can easily remove paint, it makes your hands sting (wear rubber gloves) and makes the bathroom smell like a swimming pool, other than that it's OK!

its condensation from where the warm air from the shower hits the colder air outside coming through the window. It will run off the tiles but will sit on the wall and be sucked in. The fan is either not on for long enough or is not powerful enough to make the necessary air changes in the room.0

Another vote for Grot Buster.
I tried several products to get the mould in my shower cubicle and Grot Buster is the first one to work.0 -
This stuff works I have used it.

Also looking at their shop they have a new product called no more moss - haven't tried that so can't advise, but the other products I have tried of theirs have been good including the organic weed killer.
They also have a website if you don't want to buy through ebay. https://www.mistral.ie0 -
we do professional house cleaning end of tenancies etc. we use white vinegar you can also mix this with (baking soda or) bicarbonate of soda it fizzes when mixed don't panic. but the mould is caused by bad ventilation, if you simply spray the surfaces after a shower white vinegar or a mix of this and bicarb/and lemon juice it will reduce the problem.let us know how you get on
5ltrs white vinegar is around £3.00. ventilation is free:rolleyes:
cleaners and damage deposits are very expensive;)0 -
Wiping with bleach will never work,
put the bleach on and leave for a few hours before wiping off and you will notice the difference.0 -
We have this problem too, and we always shower with the window wide open and the extractor fan on. The mould has only just appeared in the last month or so.
At first I wiped it off every day but now it has started to stain the paint. I don't want to repaint particularly but I think that may be the only way round it?
Anyone got any other suggestions? I don't think scrubbing it would get rid of it because I've tried that.0
