Lovefilm free rental help needed

I'm a lovefilm customer.

I received one of their offers in the post today. A plastic card offering £50 credit (3 months free rental). It's only for new registrations, so I can't use it, which is very annoying. I've tried setting up a new account, but it won't let me due to the address. Is there anyway I can use this offer?

i think you can change one digit on your post code on the new account, and the phone number/email must be different.

Hope this helps, but i think they have cracked down on re-activations now.

You stated you are a customer. The coupon says it is for new registrations. Why do you want to steal from them?

I assume it's for new registrations BUT they sent the offer to me, at my address and my name is on the plastic card with the offer on it, so why can't I use it?

I received 2 of those cards too.

I just passed them onto people who I thought would take advantage of the offer as it's not available to existing or past customers.

I'm pretty sure it states on it it's a gift card for you to pass on.

Sorry, I'm overly sensitive about people abusing generous introductory offers. Probably not an ideal site for me to peruse with such sensibilities. I find Martin's suggestion of serially abusing rental companies' offers to be particularly tawdry.

Your name is on the card because it is a gift card and states A GIFT FROM: YOUR NAME.

Point 7 on the terms says: Exisiting subscribers or those who have previously enjoyed a free trial with any LOVEFILM powered site are not eligiable.

The card is not for your to use, but to pass on to someone else who will. If you don't want to do some free PR for lovefilm don't pass it on. Personally though, the 2 people i gave mine to are very happy indeed.

I feel sorry for the OP, i bet everyone or almost everyone would try and get an extra 3 months free if someone had posted how to get around their systems.

I got one of those cards in the post and it clearly states on the blurb that came with it that it's a gift for you to use or to pass onto a friend. Mine stated that they hadn't forgotten about me (i finished with Lovefilm about 3 months ago) and that I could come back to them.

I tried using the card but it wouldn't let me because obviously I've had a trial before and after much arguing the point with their CS that they shouldn't be sending me these offers when they're not going to honor them they took me off their lists!!

I'm sticking with Blockbuster for now!

I got one as well, saying we are missing you offering 3 months free, but as everyone says you can't use if you have been a customer before, what a waste of money for them to print all of the blurb that comes with it as well.

I got the gift card as well. I think the main complaint is why send them to previous subscribers saying "We haven't forgotten you - in fact we're sending you an amazing gift to show how much we still think about you. 3 months of FREE LoveFilm. Use the enclosed gift card, see our service is even better than ever and enjoy 3 months of LoveFilm absolutely FREE."

When clearly reading the small print it excludes all previous subscribers to ANY LoveFilm powered website that have had any sort of free trial, which is probably about 95% of the receivers of this mailshot.
