We've just come back from tenerife, and we flew out of liverpool airport.
We took small suitcases with us, through security.
The week before we left, we got our suitcases back from family, who'd borrowed them.
Hubby packed his, and me mine, then i put our passports and flight details in the front pocket on the case.
When we arrived in tenerife i picked up hubbys case, instead of mine, going to put the passports in the safe, and guess what i pulled out.
A toy gun
It was a childs toy plastic one, but i can't wonder how this wasn't picked up at security, i'm sure that they should have seen the shape of it.
Hubby is glad that they didn't pick it up, as it could have been very embarassing for us.
Next time i lend my case out, i will make sure that i check it before i use it.

No, nor did Liverpool Airport security pick up the corkscrew that I discovered in the bottom of a deep side pocket of my hand-baggage (from a previous holiday when it was carried in the hold) when unpacking on arrival in Italy.
It was picked up by Naples airport security when I tried to sneak it back home though!0 -
You can bet your bottom dollar that they would pick up that 120ml shower gel you tried to smuggle through though! LOL0
