Hi, I have been inspired by this site to make chuntneys and jam etc as xmas presents this year, but because I didnt have any empty jam jars, I have had to buy the cheapest jam I could and use those jars, so now I have a ton of jam I dont know what to do with?
Any ideas what I could do with it? seems a shame to throw it all away
Thanks

When I made jam at the end of the summer. I didn't have enough jars (It was my first time and I didn't expect so much jam!) I poured what was left into plastic tumblers and left in the fridge. We've been eating this first before we get onto the jarred stuff and It kept fine.
I think you can freeze jam
use in smoothies.

We made a couple of gallons of Jam wine.
I also discovered the cheapest jars we could buy were Asda's pickled beetroot. It was 20p a jar which worked out cheaper than the jars of jam. Only problem is I really can't think of what to do with 20 jars worth of pickled beetroot! :rotfl:My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Not as cheap as the beetroot option, but works out at about 40 p a jar. I'm sure you can buy them cheaper elsewhere if you do a google search.0 -
