Iomega 250 Gb External Hard drive

would this be good for storing all my photos?....Does it connect through usb?
Yes it is USB. Assuming each photograph's size is between 1-2 Mb, you could store over 100,000 photographs. Unless if you have more photos than that, then the answer to your question is Yes.Going to war over religion is basically killing one another to see who's got the better imaginary friend...

I got 3 of them last week, they are very good and fast too.
My parents, girlfriend and myself all have more external backup now.
Parents and g/f both run laptops and this is perfect, no extra power cable required like a lot of the others.
The USB cable has 2 connectors on the pc side if the computer cannot provide enough power through 1. Both laptops have no bother at all though on battery power using 1 connector.
250 gb is easily enough to keep all the precious photos safe.
I have debated leaving mine at work with all the data incase my apartment burns down or something.
Cannot be too safe with the memories!
Excellent buy!
Make sure you archive your photos elsewhere too. Hard drives fail.0 -
Thanks to the poster for this. Just taken delivery of mine, the free software is via download but after that everything works seamlessly. The small USB connection to the Iomega drive itself does work loose if you try moving the drive whilst its connected but all in all an excellent bit of kitthat takes up a lot less space than my old seagate drive with its power source:D0

On the subject of storing photos, consider using one of the online storage websites. You can get 50GB of FREE storage for your files.

This is not a portable hard drive. This thread is about a portable hard drive.0 -

My cable kept popping out without prompting so I tried another one I had knocking around (I don't need the two USB ports for power on my laptop so used a simple connector) and no more problems. It is definitely an issue with the cable rather than the micro USB port on the device. So far seems like an excellent little hard drive. Thanks OP."I hear and I forget. I see and I remember.
