I would say yes its possible as no contraceptive is ever 100 % effective. If your worried speak to your doctor, or do you think you may be pregnant ?:j mseswgwa:j0

well my busoms are extremely sore and the only times i can remember them being this sore and big is when i was pregnant and my boyfriend did comment that i'd put on weight the other day, not that i'd noticed. ( thanks babe!!)0

Spookily enough I was speaking to a parent at work the other day and admiring her 6 week old baby and she got pregnant on the implant.
She told the doctor she thought she felt a baby kicking inside her and he told her it was wind!!! She was insistent she went for a scanand it turned out she was 5 months pregnant:eek: now I am pretty sceptical about these stories but I actually believed her and when I mentioned to the nursery staff I had been speaking to her and what she had told me they said she was devastated when she found out.
So yes, it is possible, and as serphin says, no contraceptive is 100% effective.
Why not do a test? Just for piece of mind0 -
Dear god, I hope it's not true! I know no contraceptive is 100% effective but the doctor who inserted it for me said unless you got pregnant before or within 7days of having it put it in it was EXTREMELY unlikely you would fall pregnant with it.0

I have the implant and i have sore boobs pretty much all the time especially on one side, I've put on weight since so it looks like it increases your appetite. I've had mine for ages now.
If your really worried get a test or go and see your GP

I have the coil and I don't get periods and I have sore boobs and carry a bit extra weight etc from time to time. I presume it must be when I would be due a period though it doesn't happen every month.
Now I know there is no way I can be pregnant;) but if the OP is worried then a quick test will put your mind at rest.
I agree that it is unlikely on the implant - as in any contraceptive if used correctly - but they aren't 100% failsafe and if it was me then I would just do the test and then slap the b/f for commenting on weight gain!!!0 -
I had my Implanon removed after about 20 months as it stopped 'working' for me. First 12-14 months was great - no periods, no mood swings, feeling really good about myself, then all of a sudden by about 16 months, I started to bleed and it went downhill from there. My body was starting to 'fight' the implanon, so to speak. My body was producing extra hormones to try and balance up, so I gained loads of weight all of a sudden, got a serious body and facial hair problem and bled constantly (not much, but enough!)
My Dr took it out as soon as I had the courage to say I thought something was wrong. Put me straight on the mini pill and things settled back down within a couple of weeks. That was about 2 years ago, now. Just fighting to get the weight back off now.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I have 2 scars now, one where it went in, one where it came out and it caused me so much upset. It always played on my mind that I'd seen about how it can 'run out' early if you are overweight. It slowly releases but if you've got more body for it to go around, I suppose....well, to me, mine ran out, simple as!
Get to your Doctor and get seen to asap - don't take a risk0 -
My doctor won't take my implanon out. They keep giving me different contraceptive pills to take with it to stop the constant bleeding I get with it (8 months so far) I've developed acne and my breasts leak milk. There was 1 pill that stopped the bleeding, but it also dried my eyes out so everytime I wore my contact lens' I ended up with conjunctivitus and I loathe wearing glasses.
I'm now on Cilest, and I bleed from morning until 2pm, then it stops until the next day. I have anaemia now, not sure if it's caused by all the bleeding and yet THEY STILL WON'T TAKE IT OUT! I really don't understand why they won't, I hate it.0 -
