Washing Machine Filter

Hi all

About a year ago, I bought a new washer dryer, a Hotpoint WD64. At the time, I couldnt locate a flap for the filter to be cleared out. It's baffled me for ages. After looking on the Net, one site says a drawback of this model is "that the filter is located in the pump, so it is not readily accessible to the customer".

Ok, does this mean I one hundred percent have to call a plumber out to clear the filter or is there a way that is safe enough for me to do it myself?

I'd appreciate any help...ta!

    Hotpoint pump filters
Hotpoint washing machines do not usually have a customer-accessible pump filter. In their questionable wisdom, Hotpoint usually place a pump filter inside the sump hose leading to the water pump instead. This means that thousands of Hotpoint washing machine owners call out an engineer, and have to pay, for something most other washing machine owners can easily do for themselves. I would never buy a washing machine without a pump filter that can be easily cleared as it is inevitable that obstructions will get inside a washing machine pump sooner or later.

If your Hotpoint front-loading washing machine won't empty the water, follow the instructions in this section, and then take off the black hose leading to the water pump and check the filter. The water won't pump out of the washing machine
