Tip: When using the Home Delivery Network

Options
Hi all

Like many on here I've been having a spot of bother figuring out where some parcels are with these guys.

They don't publish numbers you have to phone your retailer and get them to.

However... if you go to saynoto0870.co.uk and type home delivery network.... there is an endless list of local depot numbers. So if you know your local depot you can talk directly.

Good luck and sorry if this is the wrong board for a tip. Cheers.

this may be worth remembering as big retailers such as M&S and Amazon use them. There is probably a large number of big retailers using them.
  • I spent over £70 on Amazon before xmas and the del was by the home delivery network, the del came a day earlier than stated on both Amazon and the HDN websites so i was at work when del came only i didnt know this untill i logged on the following morning to see that the website said that it had been delivered and left on doorstep. I live in a maisonette and there was nothing on my doorstep, with neighbours or even a card through the door to say they had been! (never know where all that stuff went)
Thankfully Amazon re-dispatched everything again using Parcelforce and all arrived on time.

I would think very carefully about using this company again.

Yeah, I ordered a IPOD for my wife for last Christmas from Amazon and was sent via Home Delivery Network - It never arrived!

Their system stated it was delivered on a certain day but were not able to provide evidence. I seem to recall they said it was left by the door but the day they stated someone was definitely at home so was sure it was pilfered prior to arrival!

Thankfully Amazon didn't quibble and gave refund (alas it was too late to reorder another Ipod though in time for Christmas so I was still disappointed apart from all the hassle and worry caused).

Hi there is another thread on HDL with similar experiences people have had.

  • I've had alot of problems with HDN, leaving parcels in the rain and not knocking, parcels stinking of cigarette smoke, hiding parcels in the garden and not putting a card through so i'd find them days later etc. I have to say though over Christmas they were alot better, it was such a noticable difference I thought perhaps there was a threat of companies like M&S or Amazon stopping using them unless they improved.

but when you buy something off companies, your contact of sale is with them, they only sub contract out to HDN

I doubt if they will give you any information as the delivery T&C's are stipulated by the seller not the distributer
