Depends which hotel you are looking at, most of the Holiday Inns I use are in business areas and they charge around £110 B & B for the room, they are much cheaper at weekends.

  • ichotelsgroup.com own the holiday inns and guarantee to be the cheapest i have never found any website cheaper if you join their points scheme which is the priority club you can collect points every time you stay in one of their brand hotels.

if you stay between 1st and 30th June you get 1000 points on special offer just now. register first then book through their links after registration

    Hope this helps

The best bet when dealing with hotels is always ring them!

While I was working in the US and having to book my own hotels all the time I was constantly paying "rack-rate" or advanced purchase.
    My colleague gave me a few tips;

Hotels will always advertise their "rack-rate" on their website or inside the hotel.
Just like airlines, they have full fare economy, and discounted economy.
"Rack-rates" are hotels' FULL FARE economy!!

They advertise this to maximise their profits.
What I found was that if you call them a few days before your stay, you are able to basically name your own price for a room.
The theory is, if a room is empty, they will sell it for cheap to fill it - an empty room = no profit!!

My first go at it was ok. Rack rate was $75, and I got it for $65, just by asking if any cheaper rooms were available.

Ever since, I've always done this, and virtually always got it cheaper. A few instances the hotel was solid so no luck.

This has worked with all hotel chains, Hilton, Holiday INN, Crowne Plaza, etc etc.

Try it, you will be surprised at just how much you can save.
Just remember, if they say NO, hang up and be prepared to try another hotel.
If in the unlikely situation that all say no, you can always book online.

    Hope that helps.

The best Holiday Inn prices are actually on the Teletext Holidays web site (not the IC Hotels one!).

They're hidden away and only have limited availability. Note they include breakfast which is usually £7+ at the hotel.

The hotel I am trying to cancel was a HI Express....
Paid £65 for a room (2rooms) which included breakfast. Its £139 on the official site. Probably so expensive as it was in London.

Sunday nights are usually the cheapest of the week. You should be able to stay for less than £79 if you check the ichotels site.
