Hello everyone,

I've not posted on the goals thread for a while - but hopefully starting this will keep me motivated for the forthcoming week...

Here is the goals thread from last week to check out how you've done:- http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=265541.

My goals for THIS week:-

*Have an extremely productive Sunday
- tidy and clean house inc. lots of laundry
- make phone calls/send overdue texts
- do job application
- prepare for presentation for another job interview on Thursday
* Work out strict budget for October and restart spending diary when I get paid on Thursday
*Go to library and pay fines (£2.75 )
* Be productive with food have in cupboards and freezer as can't afford to go food shopping until I'm paid
* Make shopping list and meal plan for next Saturday's stock-up food shop
* Make a plan to pay off one of these pesky overdrafts before the end of October

Have a good week everyone!

    My first time of posting

Strict £10 budget for top up shopping, usually bread and milk

    Take lunch to work everyday

Stop buying so many coffees and soft drinks at work

    Make time for me

Do the internet banking to get clear idea of where we are

Make sure spending diary is kept up to date

List some more stuff on Amazon

    Good luck with your goals
    Gilly
  • Haven't posted for a few weeks either, so need to get myself back 'on the wagon'.

    here goes:

remember to take ALL packed lunch to work (seem to continually forget one or more items i.e drink) and leave purse at home!

search scrap yards for a part for my car (rather than buying new).

try not to resort to takeaways (decorating at pres and house is a complete mess) but pre-prepare simple evening meals.

pay in cheque at bank to help cash-flow (it's not going to do that sitting in my desk!)

and finally, and it's not money-saving as such , but - try and survive the chaotic week ahead without getting too frazzled!!!!!!!!!

    Good Luck everyone.

Hi everyone - I'm a bit intermittent with these so nothing to note from last week and I've been very very lax on the DFW front  since getting shot of my diary but here goes....

    1) Get back on the DFW wagon
    2) Start my spending diary all over again
    3) £15 maximum spend on fripperies this week
    4) Lunch to work x 3
    5) 2 no spend weekdays
    6) Give myself a face pack
    7) Put some fake tan on to make myself look less blue now that London is having another mini summer
    8) Reply to email from friends I haven't seen since Uni and sort out meeting up
    9) Get JD and advertisement done for the vacant post in my team.
    10) Swimming 3 times this week - starting tonight
    11) Submit expenses (c £300!)

    Good luck everyone.

hey scottish how you doing? missed you lots these last few weeks ..we need to catch up soon ...i can't even think about weekly goals just now but will give it some thought today if i get a minute..great to see you back
  • Thanks to the scottishspendaholic for jogging my memory.

    Last week:
    • £100 absolute maximum for everything
It was going so well. Even managed a no-spend day. Then went to Brighton yesterday and overspent. Total this week £118.85
    • Take lunch to work at least once
      I don't think this happened.
    • Do a good job on Thu and Fri (freelancing elsewhere during my annual leave)
Done. There's something nice about working from home and being paid twice for your time (annual leave + freelancing elsewhere day rate)
    • Sort out Egg. They blocked Egg Green card - not Egg Money as requested.
Apparently a new Egg Money is in the post.
    • Beginning looking at flats on internet - contemplating a move to Brighton.
Started looking - but not very well.
    • Book a meeting to discuss progress at work (three months since I started).
    • Find first £200 for my overdraft challenge (see below)Done. Hoping to throw as much as possible at overdraft this month.

    Next week:
    • Strictly £100. Keep it simple.
    • Lunch to work on Tuesday.
    • Throw money at overdraft when I get paid.
