Phishing on Egg

Just been caught out by an e-mail sent by egg.com, telling me that my information was incorrect and giving me the following link so that it could be updated.
https://www.egg.com/security/customer/logonURI=httpsnew.egg.com/logon.htm
When I clicked the link (it won't do it now) I got through to an EXACT replica of the Egg money log-on page - even including the 'phishing' warning (cheeky, that). So like an idiot I logged on, giving them access to all my accounts. Luckily, when I'd finished there was a message telling me not to log onto my Egg account for 72 hours which set alarm bells ringing, so I called Egg immediately. Yep, I was phished, so I had to spend the next hour changing all my log-in details for all my accounts.
Oh, how stupid do I feel? It was just SO convincing - I've had phishing e-mails before, but none as professional as this one.

Hi
Well they are hardly going to put up a bad copy of the page. Probably if there is such a way and I'm sure is, they have software to replicate any webpage, so they just redirect it, to their url them.
Im a bit surprised that you were caught out by that, and If I was you I'd be tempted to reinstall windows again or put on your backup. God knows what other kind of software like trojan or keylogger was downloaded to your computer when you clicked on that link. I wouldn't feel safe doing online banking again even with updated account passwords etc without doing the above.
That is why I have a backup of my whole drive done with acronis true image in case of anything going generally wrong with windows or a virus on computer.

Thanks Martin, you've made me feel a whole lot better.0

I have seen "bad" phishing websites, with fonts all wrong etc, that would never even trick a child. Some don't even bother to disguise the URL (so you "think" you're on ebay but the URL has nothing to do with ebay). (This was before someone told me I probably shouldn't even click on the links just for fun, but no harm came from it).
Make sure your antivirus software is up to date and run a scan, and why not look at Martin's article about free software, I'm sure in there he lists some websites which will run free scans for trojans etc, might be worth running a precautionary few of those as well to check you haven't missed anything.
Don't worry, I know you feel silly but its not the end of the world, I'm sure in most if not almost all of these cases there are no further repercussions once you've changed security.0 -
Hi again,
Well I didn't say that to make you feel bad or anything, and as said do a few online scans with different scannners to make sure nothing else there. With a bit of luck you are ok.
I am probably a bit paranoid about security as this thread about online banking shows, but I feel more comfortable doing it this way,
