After our local dealer not being able to match anything like the drivethedeal price, we are thinking of buying the car from them with finance from northern rock.

the list price 10,100 drive the deal are offering it at 8750.22 with metallic paint.

we would sell our car for £3k at least so we would need finance of 5750 (northern rock is 6.2%) so total outgoings of 9302.88 which is £800 cheaper than the garage could offer us.

there deals all ended up after 3 years paying about £10,200 for the car

what i really wanted to know before i pay the £500 deposit to drivethedeal is are they reliable has anyone had any trouble with them.

Yes, I used drivethedeal.com I ordered a Mercedes A Class through them and paid a £1000 deposit via my credit card. I was then contacted by a London Mercedes garage that arranged everything I needed, including a registration transfer. The car was delivered by them (about three weeks I think) and I paid the driver the remainder of the money by Building Society cheque.

Everything went very smoothly, highly recommended.

Yes. They're great. I bought a Maxda Rx-8 from them about two years ago. Saved abou £2k on list price. My local dealer, in London wouldn't match it.

Turned out the dealer was over 300 miles away but the car is delivered to your door and you pay the driver with a building society cheque or bankers draft. All very civilised.

In the process of completing a purchase through them now. So far very easy - placed order on the website, courtesy call the following morning to introduce themselves etc followed by a call from the supplying dealer the day after introducing himself and confirming the spec etc. Dealer is right at the oposite end of the country to me, but no worries as the car will be delivered to me on a trailer. The dealer was very civilised and obviuosly does a lot of business this way. Deposit was paid to the dealer direct - not to DTD so the risk to me is no greater than using my local dealer. Dealer has confirmed a build week to me and advised that I should have the car 2 weeks later, but so far no reason to expect anything to go wrong.

We had a really good experience with Drive the Deal eighteen months ago when we bought a Hyundai through them, and I would highly recommend the company. Everything went very smoothly without any worries at all. I believe Honest John in the Saturday Motoring section of the Daily Telegraph gives them an honourable mention too.

I can only echo the above, my partner bought his Picasso through Drive The Deal in 2004 and the whole transaction was faultless, with the car arriving on a flatbed without even "delivery miles" on the clock

We used Broadspeed and it was great - car arrived on a trailer and they took away the old car for a good p/ex price as well. Highly recommended.

One question, if I buy from them and car later develops the fault, whom do I turn to? Can I then visit to my nearest dealer??
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Yes, your warranty is with the manufacturer / dealer network, not the supplying dealer so you just take it to any franchise of that manufacturer.

My car on order from DTD is coming from over 400 miles away, but for servicing and any warranty work it will be going to the local dealer 8 miles away.

I have used Drivethe Deal, highly recommended. You deal direct with the dealer once you have placed your order. So it is minmum risk if you order using your credit card.
