hi all.
Im trying to add a website ive made to search engines, obviously to increase hits.
Ive tried explaining to the person i did it for you cant add a site to google because of the way it works, but is there a way of getting google to recognise theres a website there? Ive tried looking for the site by typing in relevant words form the site but it doesnt work.
The site has been up for about a month now and its still not on there.
Is there anything I can do to help?
Thanks in advance
Laurie

Register the site on dmoz.og - You'll find that most of the search engines pick up info from there.
I registered a new one of mine about 3 months ago and was No1 on Google within 2 weeks !!
Also make sure that your meta tags are correct for indexing.0 -
Try and get other sites to link to your friends.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Setup a Google Sitemap. Very cool. It allows you to tell google about all of the pages in your site. It also allows you to notify google when a page changes.

Take a look at my own sitemap as an example:

Hi
Try this http://www.ukshopsnet.com/directories-to-link-to.html I put this list of directories together a while ago.
Dmoz is a !!!!!! to get in to. Worth a try though, as a listing there nets you many 1000s of links back to your site as it is syndicated all over the web. I used to run it on a site of mine.
Hope that helps0 -
With Google, look up the sandbox effect as a search, new sites enter this limbo whilst they are new... this could explain the no show on G0
