I read on a web site that it is illegal to take and to bring home moroccan money.
can anyone tell me if this is right???????

There is no point in bringing money out as you will not be able to change it once you are out of the country. I don't think you are likely to be searched as you leave. The best thing is to avoid drawing too much cash towards the end of your stay so that you are just left with loose change as you leave.0

Yes its true and I wouldn't risk it if I were you. It is illegal and no idea what the punishment would be. Just spend it at the duty free if you have any left over before you fly back.0

hi i have been 2 morroco [tangiers] and it is illegal 2 bring money bac they do have big plastic tubs that they expect u 2 put all ur left over money in b4 flying so u will have 2 use the money b4 u fly as u can not use on flight hope this helps0

When I returned I spent my last few Dirhams in the cafe on the ferry. Nobody was asking whether I was carrying money out. I imagine it is not a big problem as money taken out is useless unless you go back to the country.
It does mean that countries like Morocco make a profit as effectively they have sold us useless bits of metal or paper for our pounds. Quite a lot of developing countries do not allow their currencies to be bought and sold outside the country.0
