I needed to make space on my hard drive to save a large video file made with windows movie maker.
I deleted a folder containing about 8GB of mpeg video content. It was too big for the recycle bin...obviously ! so, I deleted it.
I didnt think I needed these files because I have the same files in wmv format.
I made the movie using the wmv files. mpeg files wont work in my WMovie maker.
When I opened WMMaker, I found that I had lost nearly all of my project. Most of the video now appears as a red cross. I dont understand why this has happened as I used wmv files and not the mpeg ones I deleted
Ive tried freeundelete, pci FileRecovery and Iolo to recover these lost files, but nothing works.
Has anyone got any other ideas that might save me redoing the whole movie again ?

They are so big, that you will be lucky to get anything back, as the disk area may have been overwritten, but..
