I went a couple of years ago with the holiday place, had no problems with them. We did a twin centre, 3 nights in havana and 7 in varadero. The hotel in Varadero was meant to be a 4* but it was dirty and food very poor so we asked to be moved, rep arranged another hotel for us which we were happy with.

    Hi
What a wonderful destination to choose

i would go to tripadvisor.co.uk and search for cuba, then click on forum

there is loads of information on there

i did a lot of research for my daughters holiday and she was more than made up for it.

another vote for the cuba forums on tripadvisor - they were a great help when i was planing our holiday there.

first off you need to decide what you want from your holiday. varadero and the cayos are the most popular touristy spots, guardalavaca in the south is less developed and more 'cuban', havana is impressive, and no matter how much time you spend there it wont be enough.

if you are looking for a package holiday then its unlikely you'll find much that isnt all inclusive... in which case you generally get better value for money going for two weeks than for one.

  • Hi, I went a couple of years ago with First Choice. Iberostar Varadero. It was lovely and I believe the highest rated hotel in Cuba on Trip Advisor. Food was great, staff great, rooms lovely and plenty of room around the complex, the beach was beautiful and the sea warm, although the hotel was a way out of Varadero but taxis and buses are cheap. Lots of photos and reports about the hotel on TA. Hope that helps. Recommend the catamaran trip for definate. Wasn't impressed with Havana as they have now started building new glass buildings in the centre of old Havana. Definately go to Club Tropicana if you go to Varadero venture out to some of the nightclubs as the dancing and atmosphere in them is amazing!!!!

Are you saying that Havana is not worth visiting?

agree with other people about trip advisor, loads of info also try www.happyfacescuba.com We stayed at Cayo Santa Maria in July, relaxing beach holiday but nothing to do outside hotel really, most places all inclusive. Also stayed at Playa Pesquero in Guardalavaca, highly recommend this hotel, paid approx £200 per person to fly to Havanna (1 1/2 hours) tour guide round Che Guevarra monuments, then Tropicana nightclub in the evening, brilliant night not to be missed, bottle of rum on every table! Then day after more sightseeing with guide and flew back late evening. Well worth it, Could you not go for two weeks, long flight just for one week. Def recommend Cuba, beautiful place, cant wait to go back. HTH

I went to Cuba last year, it was the mst amazing holiday I have ever been on. Much better than a 5* Hotel I have stayed at in Egypt.

If you google Playa Pesquero (or something like that) it will come up, It has 6 restaurants and has an amazing beach, and the biggest pool in Cuba.

The people are so friendly and we made friends with many cuban people.

The are extreamly clever and most of them speak a minimum of 5 languages.......amazing, compared to what english schools teach!!!

Anyway I will stop going on now...goodluck with holiday hunt¬¬¬
