Car hire without credit card

Does anyone know if there is any way for me to hire a car in Carcassonne, France without a credit card?
I have contacted all the major companies and they all say that I need a credit card in my own name to hire a car, even when I have offered a cash deposit.
My partner (who is travelling with me and can't drive) has a credit card and is happy for it to be used, but this doesn't seem to be good enough for the car hire companies.
Any advice at all would be most welcome - it is soul destroying trying to sort this out!

There is a Super U near where we are going. Do you know how I organise the car hire? Can you book in advance? I though my French was ok but I can't make head nor tail of their website!0

Already tried Carhire3000 and they gave me the same story as everyone else I'm afraid.0 -
Thought I would update:
Managed to book through a small, local car hire company (https://www.lovlocation.com) who are willing to accept my partner's credit card for the deposit. (At least I hope I made a booking - my French is not that great!)
It's a bit more expensive (€244 = £194, when booking through a broker is around £150) but at least I know I can get a car!
At last I can start looking forward to my holiday!
