Br&Bingley account changes-Am I being ripped-off?

A while ago I opened an 'ESavings 2' account with the Bradford & Bingley. Then I discovered it was paying a lower interest rate than their newer 'ESavings 4' account. So I moved my paltry savings to the 'ESavings 4 account'.

I've got a sneaking feeling that 'ESavings 4 account' too is redundant and I should be moving on again to yet another account. (If this is the case im not too happy with B&B).

Can someone enlighten me.

If you want the best rates all the time, you have to be forever vigilant. Rip-off is however too strong and too facile a comment to make. They work hard to make money from you ... you must work equally hard to make money from them.

Thanks for your reply Raywolfe - I accept that 'rip-off' is not the right word to use (but a useful one for provoking a response!).

So I guess the best one with B&B at the moment is the 'eSavings 5'.

It would be good if there was a 'sticky' which listed the latest accounts.

You'll probably find the most up to date listings on a comparison site such as www.moneyfacts.co.uk. Indeed, they usually have new accounts (and rates) listed before they appear on the providers own website.

That said, if you have online savings accounts (and therefore internet access), you really should be checking your own provider's website regularly.

Exactly. The Bradford & Bingley site lists interest rates, past and present, for all it's accounts, so there's no need for anybody to be in the dark.

I think you'll find the eSavings issue 4 account, which you hold, pays a slightly better rate than issue 5 ;)
People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.
