PC switches itself on ??????

Can anyone help!
My new PC switches itself on each time the landline rings.
I have to switch off at the main after shutting down the PC each time. The installer will get back to me on Monday, but meantime does anyone here know the answer??

    It sounds like you have Wake-on-Ring enabled in the bios, try going into the bios screen and checking the settings.. (usually by pressing a key at boot-up - F1, F2, esc, del, it depends on the model)

    I've disabled that function now but it still does it.
    It also has enabled "wake to any PMS event" since I don't know what a PMS event is I've left that well alone. Can anyone enlighten me please?

    I'd turn all the wake-up stuff off, most people don't need it
    Make sure you hit Save, to save the changes..

    Not sure what it stands for, Power/Property management system?

    What PC is it? Check the motherboard manufacturers site for details if you are unsure.
